What Are You Grateful For?

November is the time of year to sit back and give thanks for all of life’s little blessings. So often, we don’t reflect enough on our lives and all the good because we are so caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle. While Christmas is wonderful, Thanksgiving deserves more credit than it gets. Sure, it isn’t a gift-giving holiday. Sure, there’s no Santa Claus or twinkle lights, but Thanksgiving does hold a special place in my heart.

Growing up, I spent every Thanksgiving at my Aunt and Uncle’s house. They have two daughters who are both much older than my brother and I, but it didn’t matter. I was always so excited to get to see them. We’d go over, and my Aunt would have a great spread of food, family would gather, and we’d have a great time, all together. The football game would be on in the living room, and sometimes after dinner my brother and I would play games, or we’d play with the dog. But the point is, we were all together. Some of my favorite holiday memories take place on Thanksgiving. It just goes to show, sometimes just being present is more important than getting a present.

That’s what our series is aiming to capture: those special moments in life, those things that aren’t things that make life worth living. So in honor of Thanksgiving, Always a Lady is dedicating the entire month to reflect on why we are grateful. We hope you will join us by submitting your own post on what you are grateful for, and encouraging others to take a moment to appreciate life’s little treasures.

To submit: Type up a 250-500 word post on ONE thing you are grateful for. Feel free to write as many posts as you like. Once you have your post written, head on over to the Team page, and submit your post, or send it to us over Facebook messaging. We will contact you promptly with a few additional questions. Please be prepared with a short bio and photo(s) for your post!
