Hello all! It's hard to believe I am already writing up my Beauty Review for the month of October! It seems like just yesterday I had this idea, and now here I am, writing my fourth review!
So this month's beauty review features a TON of skin care, hair care, and personal care, but not so many beauty products. Since skin care is abundant this month, I think that's where I'll start.
Skin Care
The first skin care product I have to review is probably one of my all-time favorite face washes. It is the Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser scrub. I adore this face wash, and really just any Clean & Clear product in general. I bought this scrub because I have problems with blackheads and I wanted to see if I would really see less blackheads in just a few days, as the bottle advertises. And here's the thing -- I did. I was shocked. Typically whatever the bottle predicts just does not come true for me, but this time, it did. I used this scrub 3-4 times a week, alternating with another Clean & Clear product that'll probably be up for review next month. I think my favorite part about this scrub is that it doesn't dry my skin out like other face washes do. Overall, I would highly recommend this scrub to anyone who struggles with blackheads.
Next up on the list: Forever 21 Cucumber Lemon make-up remover wipes. Forever 21 make-up remover wipes are some of my favorite wipes. They're inexpensive, work well, and smell great. These cucumber lemon wipes had a nice citrusy scent to them that was not too overwhelming. I also love that I can use just one wipe and it takes off all my make-up and I feel refreshed. I have purchased other scents in the past, and love these just as much. Each scent typically serves a different purpose. These particular wipes were detoxifying, which I thought would be beneficial when wiping off a day's make-up. I will definitely be purchasing these wipes in the future.
The last facial product up on my list is the Restore When face mask. This mask was purchased from Sephora, and was the first bio-cellulose mask I have ever used. So the mask actually came in one piece, unlike the creams I have used in the past. It was bit strange at first, and really cold, but once I figured out how to apply the mask, I was good to go. I'd say this mask was definitely oen of the best ones I have ever used, and I will definitely be splurging on one of these again.
So next I have heaven in a bottle, a.k.a. Bath and Body Works Mahogany Teakwood Ultra Shea Body Cream. I absolutely love this scent. It smells like Abrecrombie Cologne, but I have no problem wearing it. I always get compliments on it, and it's definitely a great fall scent for both men and women. I will continue to purchase this scent any way I can. I typically buy the candle, but hey, if they have lotion, why not?
Hair Care
I have two hair care products to review this month. You may remember the L'Oreal Ultimate Straight Conditioner from a previous VoxBox review post, and here it is again! So as I had mentioned before, I typically don't use hair products that contain sulfates or parabans, but when it's free, I make an acception. I have naturally straight hair, but I did enjoy this conditioner, especially paired with the pre-conditioner. If you're looking for a quality product at a good price, I recommend this shampoo and conditioner duo!
I also have a bottle of my go-to quick wash product: Suave Kids 2 in 1 Smoothers. I've been using this product for about five years now, and I always come back. On days when I am running late I will use this 2 in 1 to speed up my shower a bit. I also use this product any time I am on an overnight trip, because who needs to lug around two bottles when you can take one? While I prefer the watermelon or the apple scent, the strawberry worked just as well. The best part about this product is the price. I typically buy a bottle of kids smoothers for about $2 at the local grocery store.
Misc.
My final product falls under miscellaneous items since it doesn't really fit in anywhere else this month. It is the travel size bottle of Total Flirt from PINK. The scent is described as apple blossom and freesia, but I describe it as sassy summer in a bottle. And that's about how long this product lasted me, give or take a few extra weeks. I used this scent all summer long, and now that summer has finally ended and winter is just around the corner, the bottle is empty, and I am moving on to some great winter scents that I can't wait to share with you all! I loved this body mist, and will consider buying another bottle in the future, but first I should probably use the bajillion I already own.
So that's all for this month's Beauty Review! Which of these products have you loved? What about hated? I'd love to hear what your favorite products were this month!
