My Date with the Dead: Emily's Room

I was nervous with excitement as we made our way to what is known as “Emily’s Room.” This was the room I was looking forward to investigating most! Emily is believed to be the spirit of a young child - I tried doing some research to find out more about this “Emily” but could not really find much. I am not even sure if the spirit child’s name really is Emily or not… but there have been several documented accounts of a little girl who is often seen hanging out in the back room of the second floor.
As we made our way to the end of the second floor hallway we entered a room that was divided into four sections by half walls (kind of gave me flashbacks to when my school was being remodeled and they set up a few classrooms in the gym with divider walls that were only about 7 feet tall – now that was scary). Emily’s room was the last room on our left. I looked through the doorway and saw one of the iron beds with a super thin mattress that housed a multitude of stuffed animals. A feeling of sadness swept over me as I imagined this poor little girl who just wanted to be loved but instead was neglected and shunned from society. We had two EMFs, one was placed at the head of the bed, the other at the foot of the bed. As soon as the machine at the head of the bed was set down it immediately started flashing up to red. This was the most action we had had the entire evening.

“Emily’s Room” – Her bed covered in stuffed animals
We began asking Emily to light up the lights again and she granted our request. We then placed the Ovilus on the bed. At one point my friend picked up the stuffed animal giraffe and all of a sudden the Ovilus spoke “AXE.” My friend was a bit concerned as she wondered if she somehow pissed Emily off to the point where this was to be taken somehow as a threat. I, on the other hand, think perhaps maybe what Emily was trying to say was “ASK,” as in it isn’t nice to play with other people’s toys unless you ask first. Whatever was meant by the word spoken out by the Ovilus it prompted my friend to put the giraffe down fairly quickly. The lights on the EMF at the head of the bed were still flashing up and down on a pretty consistent basis. We asked if Emily would come to the foot of the bed. She seemed reluctant as the there was little to no action on the EMF located there. I couldn’t blame the poor child, I mean here were a bunch of strangers congregated around her bed. For all I knew the facemask I was wearing may have been weirding her out a bit as well.
There was a piece of notebook paper with the name “Emily” written in purple crayon. I picked up a pink crayon and wrote the word “Hi” and drew a pink heart. One of my friends also left a note for Emily on the paper. I placed my hand on her bed on top of the note we made for her and asked if she would please come to the end of the bed for us. A few moments later the EMF at the head of the bed stopped lighting up, and shortly after that the EMF at the foot of the bed began to flash up to red. What happened next I am still trying to figure out myself. As I stood there with my hand on the bed watching the EMF light up I felt a slight pressure on the top of my ring finger of my right hand. It felt like a gentle squeeze, then just a super light pressure as if something was resting on top of it. I said aloud that something was touching the top of my finger. One of my friends said it was probably the crayon. I knew it was not the crayon for two reasons: 1) this felt as if it was ON TOP of my finger, not the tip of the finger where perhaps maybe the crayon had rolled on its own 2) when I looked down at the paper the crayon was no where near my finger. Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me at 1:30am, but I would like to think it was little Miss Emily saying “Hi” back in response to my note.

My note to Emily (left hand in the picture, but had my right hand on the bed when I felt it being “touched”
We decided it was time to let Emily go to bed so we wished her a good night and exited her room. I would love to go back and sit in the room alone and read her a story or two from a children’s book. Just to see if perhaps she would be a little less shy with only one person around versus eight. I don’t know why, but something about Emily just made me want to give her an opportunity to feel like a real child and get to have a bedtime story read to her.
Next to Emily’s room was another random room with a bed. I snapped a picture just because. I didn’t pay much mind to the picture until recently when I was looking through which photos I wanted to include in this post. As I was scrolling through the pictures I had uploaded I noticed a few orbs near the headboard of the bed.

Second floor bedroom next to “Emily’s Room”
Notice the half wall on the right
Looking at the headboard you can make out 2 orbs
I also see one orb above and to the slight left of the headboard
I was super excited to catch some decent orbs in a picture. I zoomed in and what caught my eye next kind of sent chills down my spine. If you look closely at the two windows you can see faces in both.

Can you make out the two faces in the window here?

More faces in this window? You be the judge!
As we made our way back into the hallway we could feel ourselves getting weary. There was a common room with some of the original rubber chair furniture so we decided to tuck in there for a bit and have a seat to regroup.
