Fleeting Fall

I don't think any of us here in the Northeast are ready for the bone-numbing chill of Winter. Yet here we are, only nearing the end of October, and temperatures have dropped well below freezing, leaving a layer of frost on the ground. When I woke up this morning, I had a snapchat from my friend with the temperture filter on it. 23 degrees in NEPA. In the two hours since I received that snapchat, the tempertures have only risen to 30, and the high for today is slated to be 52. Good thing I brought all of my scraves, hats, and gloves back from home this past weekend.

So what can we do to combat the inevitable cold that has already settled here in the Northeast? Can anything really be done? My tolerance for cold is low. I just don't like it. I've already broken out the flannel sheets, have been drinking hot tea like crazy, and am constantly bundled up in sweaters and blankets. I avoid going outside as much as possible, but in order to not fail all of my classes, I have to go outside.

With Winter approaching, I guess there is not much I can do except hope that Fall will return, even if only for a few more weeks. Because let's face it, who wants to rush the changing of the leaves and pumpkin spice? As much as I love a good Ginger Bread Latte from Starbucks, I think I'm alright with PSL sticking around just a little bit longer.
