Foodie Friday: Pizza Croissants!

So everyone loves pizza, if you don't, then you're lying or you live under a rock. Croissants are one of the fluffiest, most delicious, french breads I have ever had (they come from France right...?). So I figured WHY NOT COMBINE THE TWO!!! Not really though... My boyfriend and I were trying to make Pizza Muffins that we saw in a video on Facebook, so he bought the biscuits we needed and croissants as well. So I made a bunch of each, and needless to say (based on the title of this post) the croissants won the popular vote! If you want to learn how to make the biscuit ones anyway, here is a link to a video recipe for you... But I'm sure you can figure it out.

ANYWAY, onto our recipe!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tube of Pillsbury Croissant dough (each tube makes 8, so plan accordingly)

  • 1 jar of pizza sauce, any kind you'd like

  • 1-2 bags of shredded Mozzarella cheese

  • 1 bag of Pepperoni (or whatever kind of meat you'd like)

Recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and pull our a baking sheet and cover it with either parchment paper or tin foil. I'd suggest parchment paper so the rolls are less likely to stick! But it's all up to preference.

  2. Pop open your tube (or have your boyfriend do it like I do) and lay out your croissants flat side by side, if you can, on the pan. If not, do them a few at a time.

  3. On an unrolled croissant, put a dollop of pizza sauce and spread over the thicker part of the roll (this way it doesn't get EVERYWHERE when you go to roll it). Add the Mozzarella cheese, as much as you want, we aren't here to judge. Then all the pepperoni or whatever kind of meat you've chosen for your rolls! *repeat this step for all croissants*

  4. Now is the hard-ish part: We roll the croissants how we normally would. Thick end in the middle closing it with the pointed end (you know what I mean, all you croissant lovers!). Take your time, this part isn't the easiest with all those fillings inside now, but they WILL close, promise! *repeat this step for all croissants*

  5. Line all the croissants up on the baking sheet when you're finished and place them in the oven to bake for about 10 minutes, or until the outsides are golden brown. Or however you like your croissants, I know there are a few burnt croissant lovers out there!

And there you have it!! You have an awesome, simple, low-budget meal for a party or dinner for two, or dinner for one even! No judgement! I love these and have made them multiple times since my original discovery, so I would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone! I also plan to make them for parties as well, like mini stuffed breads!!
