My Date with the Dead: Opportunity Knocks

If you read my previous blog posts then you are well aware by now that I had double knee cap replacements and are probably sick of hearing about it. The only reason I bring this up is because I had a wonderful team of therapists whom I still keep in touch with. One of my PTs remembered my post about Pennhurst from a few years back and this past August (2015) messaged me asking if I was still interested in visiting the dilapidated asylum. Ummmmmm is Casper the friendliest ghost you know??? Hells yes I was down to visit this paranormal palace! As it would turn out he had known some people that run ghost investigations and sent me the link to register. I had found out that they do a “haunt” there – where people dress up and try to scare you in typical haunted Halloween fashion, but I did not realize they did legit paranormal tours as I had not really looked much up about Pennhurst the last year or two. I saw that they only had one date open before the start of the “haunt” season so I registered immediately. This prompted me to try and search for the “Haunted History” special, which I did find on YouTube - double score!
I was so excited about getting to see this place that was so pivotal in the practice of Eugenics. It was one of those places you hear about, but just never imagine you will actually get to see. Our tour guides would be some select members affiliated with a paranormal investigatory group called the South Jersey Soul Searchers. The date was set… September 4th, 2015 I was channeling my inner Ghost Buster and was on a quest to find me some spirits.
