It’s that time of the month again! Beauty Review time! This month I have some exciting and unique products that I haven’t had the chance to talk about yet, so I am incredibly excited to share them with you! As usual, I will break my post apart into specific categories of face, hair, and body products. So let’s jump right into this review then, shall we? Who knows, maybe by the end of this post, you won’t be able to resist heading out to your local drug store and picking up some of these fabulous finds, but be warned! There are definitely some products to stay away from this time around!

Face:

This month I have three Montagne Jeunesse products to review (any idea how to pronounce that, anyone?) I picked up these lovely facemasks 3 for $5 at Weis a couple months ago and have finally finished off all three!

Let’s start with the Anti-Stress Cucumber Peel-Off. I’ve always liked peel-off masks. They’re cool, as long as you leave them on long enough and don’t get it in your hair. I really liked this mask in particular because it specifically targets oily skin in the T-zone of the face.

The Manuka Honey Peel Off was just as satisfying, smelling exactly like honey and again being that lovely peel-off that I enjoy. This mask also contains Jasmine, which is known for its calming features. The mask boasts that Manuka honey is a natural cleanser, and I really did feel clean and refreshed after using this mask.

Finally, I have the Green Tea and Squeezed Lemon Peel Off mask, which specifies it is for detoxification of the skin. Although these masks are on the cheap side, I definitely think they live up to the characteristics listed on the label.

All three masks peeled off very easily and nicely, leaving behind minimal residue that needed to be removed with water. I love using these facemasks whenever I am stressed out or spending time with friends. I even got my boyfriend to try one! The best part about these facemasks is that each foil pack yields about 3-4 masks, making it an amazing bargain!

Hair:

Next up I have two hair dyes that are essentially identical, just different brand names and quality. I don’t typically dye my hair often, but I was feeling a change, and I thought a nice red would be lovely for the fall season. I purchased the Garnier hair dye in 643 Light Natural Copper first because it was on sale. Bad decision. I used this hair dye, left it in five minutes longer than the directions specified, and when I dried my hair after rinsing the dye out, my hair was still blonde. Major disappointment. This is the third time I have used this brand of dye and it has not worked. The first two times I assumed it was because I was dying my hair back to blonde

from a dark brown. This time, I know it is just the quality of the dye. I will not be purchasing this brand again.

Since I really did want to switch it up with my hair color, I decided to try a different brand of dye that was a bit more expensive. I went with the L’oreal Paris Superior Preference in the shade 7LA Lightest Auburn. This box of dye gave me the results I was looking for! Even without using shampoo and conditioner specifically for color treated hair, the color has held up well, even weeks after the dye! If I choose to keep up with my hair rather than letting it fade back to blonde, I will definitely be repurchasing this particular brand and shade. I love it!

Body:

I have a wide variety of body products this month, and I have to say, overall it was a great month for body products. I don’t think I was dissatisfied with any of these products!

First up is the travel size Bath and Body Works lotion in Wild Madagascar Vanilla. This scent is one of my absolute favorites from Bath and Body Works. Muskier than the Warm Vanilla Sugar, it doesn’t overwhelm my senses with its toxically sweet smell. Plus the label is gorgeous! I love this scent for year round use. It’s always an appropriate scent!

Next up is the Skintimate Shave Gel in Strawberry Tangerine Twist. This cream smelled amazing! Plus, the 20% more product in the container was an added bonus for a broke college student such as myself! Even though I had really crappy razors at the time, I really think this shave gel protected my skin fairly well. The damage could have been much worse.

Another Bath and Body Works Product! Next is the Ultra Shea French Lavender and Honey body crème. This stuff is absolutely amazing. The quality is there, and the Ultra Shea is always my go-to if my skin is insanely dry or after I shave my legs. This scent was so light and delicate. I loved it for Spring and Summer. I will definitely purchase this scene again in the future. Not to mention, look how cute the bottle is!

The next product must be new, because I had never seen it before the very first time I bought it (this bottle) just this summer. It is the Clean & Clear Morning Burst body wash in Mango and Papaya scent. I trust Clean & Clear products for my face, so why not trust them to do right by the skin on my body? I was correct in this line of thinking. After I use up some of the other body washes I have in my dorm room, you can bet I will be back at Redners or Walgreens or Walmart or wherever buying another bottle of this amazing body wash.

Finally I have the sample size of the Speed Stick Gear Men’s Deodorant. My university was giving these away in a box marked “Free Samples for Men.” Clearly, that didn’t stop me. In fact, it didn’t stop a lot of females on my campus from taking them. This little deodorant served me well, and really did work. Why is it men’s deodorant always works better than women’s? What’s with that?! Anyway, I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for more awesome free samples like this one!

That’s it for this month’s Beauty Review! Hopefully I have inspired you to try some new products. Keep in mind, what works for one person may not always work for another, so if you didn’t like any of these products that very well could be why! Let me know what you have tried or want to try in the comments below, and we can chat!

Stay beautiful!
