All Good Stories Must End: "The One" by Kiera Cass

So the day has finally come. I have finished The Selection Series, and I must say, I am incredibly happy with this trilogy and how it ended. Most of the time, trilogies tend to go downhill after book one, but these books really kept at it. If anything, they got better with each one. The only downfall to the series I found was that it ended too soon. I have so many questions about what happens after the final page, yet I don’t think I will ever get answers.
Anyway, let’s talk about The One! This book was full of twists and turns I was absolutely not expecting! Although it took me a little longer than it should have to get through this book (thanks school), I’m actually glad I got to take my time with it, especially since I was under the impression there would be another book. Once I finished the last page, I read the acknowledgements just to see if it was the final book. Sadly, it is.
But I digress. If you’ve been following this series, I definitely recommend reading The One as soon as possible. So many times Cass makes the reader wonder if America and Maxon will be together in the end. Believe it or not, I was convinced they weren’t going to be, that is until the last major plot twist. Or, well I don’t even know because there were so many plot twists in this novel. But none of them were over the top or unbelievable. Cass made every event tie in perfectly together, bringing the reader back to something mentioned previously in the storyline and making everything make sense She really did tie up all the loose ends, something a lot of authors fail to do. I am so glad I didn’t give up on this series when I found myself dragging through the first few chapters of The Selection.
If you’ve read this wonderful series, let me know your thoughts in the comments! I’d love to talk books. Until next time, happy reading!
