So remember I mentioned that bag of empty bottles that was lurking in the back of my closet? Well I finally decided to dig it out, and I am here to give you the scoop on nearly every product I used my sophomore year of college. Buckle up, because this is going to be a long one, covering all the bases, except, surprisingly, makeup.

Hair:

OGX repairing awapuhi ginger shampoo- Anyone who knows me knows that I swear by OGX. It’s rare I use anything else on my hair. So of course I was willing to give this particular shampoo a try. I absolutely loved the smell of this shampoo, it’s incredibly refreshing, sweet with a nice ginger twist to it. I also liked that my hair felt both clear and repaired after using it. I partnered this shampoo with the matching conditioner, and while I liked the shampoo, I sadly couldn’t say the same about the conditioner.

OGX repairing awapuhi ginger instant recovery mask- I used this mask on a weekly basis and loved it! It spread easily and made my hair silky, smooth, and refreshed. I loved that this mask didn’t weigh my hair down, a big plus for my fine texture hair. I will definitely purchase this product again in the future.

OGX rejuvenating cherry blossom ginseng conditioner- I bought this conditioner based on

smell, along with its unique list of ingredients, including rice milk and bamboo extract. I really loved this conditioner and will definitely purchase it again in the future.

OGX hydrating macadamia oil shampoo- This shampoo is one of my all time favorites. It adds intense moisture without adding grease, which I was a bit concerned about since it is oil infused shampoo. Along with doing wonders for my hair, this shampoo had an amazing smell.

OGX nourishing coconut milk conditioner- I bought this on mega sale at Weis and couldn’t have been happier. Both the smell and quality of this conditioner are beyond amazing. It really does nourish hair, leaving it lively and beautiful. After using this conditioner, I didn’t even need detangler, a product I almost always use. It goes without saying that I will definitely use this in the near future.

Body Wash:

Bath & Body Works Wild Peach Poppies- I bought this body wash during semi-annual sale in 2013. Actually, I bought enough body wash to get my through college at the semi-annual sale in 2013. But I digress. I am a huge fan of B&B products and have been using their body washes longer than I can remember. What it always comes down to with me is scent preference, and this one did not disappoint. Even after my shower, it left a light, peachy scent on my skin, which I loved. Unfortunately, I don’t know if this product is still produced, so if you go looking for it and can’t find it, I’m sorry!

Pink Fresh & Clean Wash and Scrub- I got this product for Christmas as apart of a gift set, and used it almost immediately after I got back to college. I loved that this product contained exfoliating beads, but because of that, it didn’t lather well and I ended up using the entire bottle in about two weeks. I loved the fresh & clean scent because it reminds me of clean linens, one of my favorite smells. Sadly, I don’t think I’d buy this product again, mostly because of how quickly it diminishes.

Family Dollar Oatmeal Body Wash- Now that’s what I call ballin’ on a budget. Despite being from Family Dollar, this body wash really is comparable to aveeno. Any time I had skin irritation, whether it be sunburn, a rash, or mosquito bites, I used this body wash and it really did relieve the irritation. If you’re looking for a good oatmeal wash, but can’t shell out the big bucks for aveeno, I highly recommend checking out this bargain brand.

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash- I received this product in one of my VoxBoxes way back when, and fell in love. I had used Dove products before, but sparingly. Being in college, I can’t always afford expensive body wash (especially when I’m already spending that money on hair products), so I was stoked when I received this trial size Dove. As with most Dove products, it was high quality and was definitely moisturizing.

Lotion:

Vaseline Spray & Go pure oat extract- I’m going to start by saying I love spray lotion. It’s so convenient and it really does dry fast, just like the bottle states. This lotion was perfect for getting me through the winter months when my skin was particularly dry. The oat extract was

incredibly moisturizing, but since the lotion is spray-on, it is incredibly lightweight and absorbs quickly, leaving behind nothing but smooth skin. If you’re looking to try out spray on lotion, I highly recommend this one!

Aerie Cozy Up- I LOVE this lotion. I don’t even know where to start. The Aerie lotions are amazing quality, leaving skin incredibly soft, no matter how dry it was before applying the product. This scent, which was released in the wintertime, it perfect for the season. It is both spicy, and sweet, finding the perfect balance between the two. It’s hard to describe, but it’s amazing. I recently picked up a full-size bottle of Cozy Up at my local Aerie from a clearance bin, along with a bottle of Hidden Love, which is the perfect summer scent. I hope that Aerie continues to make Cozy Up for a long time, because it is definitely my signature winter scent.

Deodorant:

Dove Original Clean- I bought this in a two-pack at Christmas Tree Shoppes right before school started so I would be set for a few months, but sadly, I found that after a few weeks, this deodorant stops working. While it smells amazing and works well for a little while, it wasn’t long before I had to switch.

Degree Men Dry Protection- When I switch from Dove I went with this Degree deodorant, also purchased in a two-pack. Once I had this one, I switched between this one and the Dove deodorant, alternating every two weeks. I found the Dove was more effective this way, and I’ve always preferred men’s deodorants.

I hope that this month’s beauty review inspired you to pick up some new products next time you’re out. I’d love to hear if you have tried these products in the past and what you thought of them. I can’t wait to see what I’ll get to write about next month as my bottles empty out. Until then, stay beautiful!
