A New Kind of Justice?

As a female with a rather strong personality, I find myself very opinionated and not afraid to voice those opinions. Today is no different.
But for once, I was left speechless after reading a recent online article. Actually, I felt sick to my stomach at the content of the article; the words on the screen were screaming back to me, demeaning me as a women and causing me to want to write a very strongly worded comment at the writer explaining exactly how much of an imbecile he had made himself out to be.
So what was the subject of this article you may ask?
“Killing women is the only path to justice for men”.
Come again?

Men are in need of justice?
So in order to do that, women should be killed off?
I was astounded. Actually I was excruciatingly pissed off (excuse my french).
This article that I had been linked to (from the Facebook Page “Rabid Feminist”) led me to a site which had posted a series of tweets from a so-called men’s rights activist. I refuse to post the name of the man behind the terrible tweets.
Why?
Because that would be giving him the recognition that he wants, the recognition for his ridiculous cause. And he deserves nothing.
After his tweets he deserves absolute shit (again, excuse the french).
But the article went on to describe what this man felt was justice for men everywhere, by ex-boyfriends killing of their female counterparts in Ireland and Australia. He felt that apparently men were in the right to kill these women, and that this idea of “justice” should continue on to save mens’ rights. And I ask myself, “Excuse me?”
Men have rights. That they do. Women have rights too. But are they recognized just as much as the mens’ rights? No, not at all. And that is a battle that we began to fight hundreds of years ago, and it is sad that we are still fighting this battle. But this idea of killing off women who anger men, or do anything the men do not approve off is absolutely absurd. Is he Henry VIII? No, but he is pretty close.
It saddens me to think that there are people out there who think similarly to this man. So must women continue to live in fear of the opposite sex? You would think in a civilized society such as the one we reside in today, one gender would not be demeaned in comparison to the opposite, however, sadly that is still the case.
It is sad that women cannot go out at night or even sometimes in the day by themselves for fear of not returning. I know personally, there are places I would not even think to go by myself, and I hate that society has placed that confinement. I refuse to get gas at night. Why? Because I always hear stories about gas stations late at night, and it scares me to be there at that time. So why must women continue to live in fear in some cases? Because there are men out there such as this man I had mentioned earlier.

So how do we transform society to realize that believe it or not, WOMEN ARE EQUAL WITH MEN???
That’s right, I said it. Whether you bloody well like it or not, men and women are the same. You get angry as a man? I can assure you a woman can be just as angry; have you not heard that saying “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?”
There have been great strides towards recognizing women in this view. A huge push has come from He for She led by great celebrities such as Emma Watson showing that it is okay to be a man and a feminist. And it is such a start, however, we as women must still fight because there are people out there like this man who feel that the male gender is so superior. Males are not superior, but neither are the females! This is the fight of life that we are all considered equals, and the fact that is it 2015 and we still do not all think this way is extremely sad for our society.
So fight we must, together men and women to overcome individuals such as this man and the rest of the mens’ rights activists who feel that the only way for them to achieve this so called “justice” that they are direly in need of is to kill off women.
Is anyone else as infuriated as I am at the moment?
I hope so, because it is idiotic individuals such as this that make our world so messed up.
But then again, what would I know?
Until next time,
Johnna
