Long Hair, Don't Care As Long As It's Free

To quote my mother, “if it’s free, it’s for me,” which is exactly how I feel about receiving boxes from Influenster, but not how I feel about Herpes, which is my go-to response for when my mom does say that. For those of you who don’t know, Influenster is an online community of bloggers, vloggers, and people who just generally feel like they have something constructive to say about all sorts of products. Typically, Influenster VoxBox’s are filled with beauty products, and some other miscellaneous products, like dental floss and breath strips.
I was lucky enough to receive the L’Oreal Ultimate Straight VoxBox, which included the entire line of L’Oreal Ultimate Straight products. Now the one thing you need to know about me is that I love my hair. I cherish it. It’s incredibly special to me and I take care of it as though it were a child. So as you can imagine, I am pretty picky about what products I choose to use on my hair. I only use OGX, Dove, and Not Your Mothers products because they are my tried-and-trues. So I was a little iffy when I found out I was getting a box that literally only hair products.
But now it’s all good because I am not going to complain about free stuff. And I am indeed using my free hair products. What I really like about this collection, aside from the fact that it was free and it smells nice, is the pre-conditioner. Yes. That’s right. Pre-conditioner. Have I heard of it before? Nope. Not at all. Leave in conditioner? Yeah. Deep conditioner? Of course. But never had I heard of pre-conditioner before. But man, is it changing my life. It’s a once a week treatment that you use BEFORE you put in the conditioner. Here’s the real catch – you don’t rinse it out first, you just slap the conditioner right on top and your hair gets this wonderful, moisture-filled treatment every single week.
The final step of the system, which takes place outside of the shower, is the Straight Perfecting Balm, which actually works. My hair stayed straight for two entire days, despite having it in a pony tail under a hat at work, going for a run, and sleeping on it. How that happens, I have no idea. But it did.
So overall, I am incredibly satisfied with my free VoxBox from Influenster and hope that in the future I can be chosen for more VoxBoxes (free stuff).
